It is black. A trick for shrinking this big stuff and having it come out looking professional is to wait till the missus is out and then coil your project up on a cookie sheet in her oven; slowly crank up the heat in about five minute intervals until it starts to shrink; then be patient. Allow plenty of time so you can let it cool off and get clear before she comes home.

This is a nice inexpensive set of tools for hobby or light industrial use.
