This socket is designed to mount to a panel from behind a 5/8" hole that would allow access to the socket. Two 3/16" holes, 1 & 3/16" apart will accommodate the mounting holes. The 10 pin pattern is the same as a 9 pin tube socket. These were probably designed for nixie tubes.
