The beauty of this product is its Baseband Audio and Video outputs as well as the typical RF output (Ch 3 or 4). The cable ready tuner in this device will receive all the special cable channels (midband, superband, etc.) as well as regular VHF and UHF TV channels. This can be your front end to feed the video to a monitor and the audio to multimedia speakers. Stack several together and feed through a switcher to track several channels. The included remote control is a universal remote and extensive documentation which is included has a list of devices which the remote will operate. Also included is an IR-Blaster which allows IR to pass thru the demodulator box and operate an IR LED which can be placed in front of another device to be controlled such as a VCR or Cable Box. This demodulator is a “plug and play” device, no authorization required. To the best of our knowledge no provider is broadcasting in the format that this device was designed to decode. It DOES pass all unscrambled signals without difficulty. The main advantage of using this device is that it will take any off air or cable channel and reduce it to audio and video outputs. The audio and video distributed in a variety of ways to multimedia speakers and a video monitor for instance or to a sound system or HiFi and several displays in a home theater or marketing application. There are left and right mono RCA jacks. In other words this is a cheap and simple way to demodulator (RF to baseband) a TV signal. The universal remote is an added plus.
