This bipolar chopper drive has been designed for easy set-up and use. It features a dual full bridge motor driver based on SGS Thompson chips L297 & L298. Motor current is set using an on-board potentiometer and the controller is capable of handling motor winding currents of up to 2 Amps per phase. It operates from a DC supply voltage of 9-35V. The drive provides all basic motor controls, including full or half stepping of bipolar steppers and direction control. An on-board step pulse generator is adjustable from approximately 20 to 2000 pulses per second with an on-board potentiometer. In addition, all signals can be interfaced to external logic or a microcontroller. You can easily control the motor from your computer's parallel port! This controller is perfect for desktop CNC applications. The kit includes a double sided PC board, all parts, a transformer and a bipolar stepper motor; everything you need to get running immediately.
