I must say that I was not in the market for this product, but was having a bad day and just reading the product description and ratings gave me just what I needed. Cant say I ever got something I needed in that mannner, especially for the price. (I saved 1 cent off the marked price) Thanks for making my day.

FYI for those customers who prefer the non-ball-bearing type, it's relatively easy to convert from ball-bearing to non-ball-bearing. However, there is no home conversion kit and the device must be sent to an authorized maintenance facility.
Be aware that modified devices do not self-replicate and the modification requires several days to return to fully operational status.

Longtime user notes 12/24/2008

I have been an owner of similar devices for years.
A few quick notes for the potential buyer:
This trap should not be used for any length of time in a small confined area. The device must be permitted to move freely to continue proper function. The device is self-cleaning, but its finish tends to fall off and accumulate in corners and vents. The buyer cannot select or modify this pre-applied finish--the device cannot be painted. (If color is a serious concern, it is advised that you purchase several.)
There can be violent incompatibilities when attempting to operate multiple traps in the same location. To reduce this risk, it is recommended that only factory-new traps be introduced to areas where others are already in service.
Although the unit is relatively quiet and easy to maintain, it does generate waste material, especially when employed with a heavy duty-cycle. (Waste is not harmful to the environment, but is a mild health risk, and pregnant women should avoid contact.) These devices are non-hypoallergenic and non-machine washable.

There are several problems with this product that bear noting. First off, the factory will handle the first 4-6 weeks of maintenance and pre-programming but after that they will not answer any correspondence regarding the product, nor are factory returns possible. The user is strictly on his/her own. Several manuals and handbooks have been written by a wide assortment of users but they don't agree, sometimes even at the most basic level. There are no user serviceable parts inside which means that problems outside the scope of a user's capabilities, which are legion, must be referred to specialists who have knowledge based on years of experience but no factory training which isn't even offered. On what may be dubiously considered a positive side, some versions of this device are self-replicating so the acquisition of one can lead to ownership of several which can lead to ownership of way too many - hence the "dubious" part.
